WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT

 PROJECT BRIEF:  For this project we were asked to film an event unlike any other – a Guinness World Record attempt. Held at the Purple Badger in Llanrhidian, and used as a day to raise money for charity Ty Olwen, locals attempted to break the record for the most heads shaved in an hour.

An event like this is very different to our own organised shoots as so many elements are beyond our control. For this world record attempt timing and organisation were key in making sure we didn’t miss important aspects of the day. As well as getting the WRA on film we also needed to capture the atmosphere of the event, so we used equipment such as cranes and gimbals to get impressive crowd shots.

Editing was crucial in striking the right balance between the serious reason behind the event and the fun that was clearly had by everyone involved on the day. What the video ultimately needed to express was this huge accomplishment by a community who came together for a good cause. And it does.
