YSGOL MAESYDDERWEN
PROJECT BRIEF: Brief: We were asked by Ysgol Maesydderwen to film their GCSE results day and document the success of their students. It was important to the school that we talked with students, parents and teachers and emphasised the community spirit within the school that makes the pupils’ achievements possible.
This was an interesting event for us to film due to the nature of the day and the location. Nothing was scripted and as the event took place over several hours we were able to play with the shots and use sliders and dolly tracks.
On the day we interviewed numerous students, parents and teachers, not only about the results but also about the school and the support it provides the students. When it came to editing these interviews together we wanted to strike the right balance between showcasing student success and highlighting the caring, supportive environment that Maesydderwen creates for its pupils.
